LG CNS has received a plaque of appreciation from Indonesia’s tax authority for developing and supporting Coretax, the country’s integrated tax administration platform, the Korean IT services company said Monday.
The award was presented Friday at the Jakarta Tax Office during a ceremony attended by Kim Hong-geun, head of LG CNS’ Digital Business Division; Bimo Wijayanto, Indonesia’s director general of taxes; and Iwan Djuniardi, special adviser to the finance minister.
Led by the Directorate General of Taxes under Indonesia’s Finance Ministry, Coretax consolidates taxpayer registration, filing, payments, refunds, audits and collection onto a single platform. The national digital transformation project is designed to improve administrative efficiency and taxpayer services.
LG CNS developed the system through a consortium with Austrian IT company Qualysoft GmbH, completing it in December 2024. The company then worked with the tax authority to stabilize and operate the platform through March this year.
After the authority assumed operations in April, LG CNS continued providing technical support under a maintenance contract covering core infrastructure, including databases.
Coretax has been fully operational since April. Indonesia collected 1,035.7 trillion rupiah ($58.77 billion) in tax revenue in the first half of this year, up 24.6 percent from a year earlier. The tax authority said stronger administration through Coretax contributed to the increase.
LG CNS is now discussing an AI upgrade for the platform that would introduce automated processes and data analytics to improve tax administration and taxpayer services.
The company is also expanding its public-sector business in Indonesia. Over the past two decades, it has carried out e-government projects for major agencies, including the police and finance ministries. It is also participating in a 100 billion won ($75 million) AI data center infrastructure project launched in Jakarta last year.

“The plaque recognizes our close cooperation with the tax authority in building and operating the system,” Kim said. “We will support Indonesia’s digital government transformation by leveraging our digital capabilities and AI technologies.”
